Black moody coffeeshop with secret spaces and a fireplace in St. Petersburg has been envisioned as a getaway from a busy metropolitan life. Designed specifically to promote high-end line of Lavazza brand, this 150m2 coffee place features a showroom, a 55-seat main hall with various types of siting elements, a secret living room with a fireplace and a hidden playground for kids.
Our intention was to create a cozy and informal space, where people will be able to relax and have a homey feeling between or after working hours. It is a place to go to with your business partner for an informal meeting, meet with friends during the lunch time or even bring an entire family for an evening dessert, while their kids can crawl in a hidden playground to give their parents some free time. Dark tones, warm lights and plenty of soft and comfortable seats make you stay there for hours.
A polygonal wooden shelf serves two main roles in the space: it creates an exhibition and showroom space for exposition of various products and remarkable historic material that refeclts the path of Lavazza brand through decades, as well as serves as a screen that divides the area into a public and a private zone. In the private area there’re either staff rooms or hidden spaces for visitors who want a bit more privacy.
The bar works as a central element and the first thing you see as you walk in. It is located in a niche of the polygonal shelf and has a glowing wall with a menu at the back. Doors to the kitchen are hidden on the side of the niche.
The showroom with an independent service desk is positioned between the entrance and the bar to make sure that it gets enough attention from every visitor but at the same time doesn’t disctract you from relaxing and having fun with your friends.
It is a perfect place to have a cup of your beloved coffee and be hide away from your daily routine.
